HOMEOWNERS & INSPECTION Pt. 2

Today, we will continue with our blog which should make you think twice about a “Proper Home Inspection”.  Many homeowners search for homes that are within their budget. Even though purchasing a home is about dollars and cents, you do not want to compromise on the stability of the structure. Here are a few questions that you should ask a professional.

Is your home's drywall posing health risks?
“Hurricanes in early to mid-2000’s, set off a building boom that drained domestic supplies of drywall, a board used to create the interior walls of homes. Builders turned to imported materials, much of it from China but serious problems soon emerged. People started noticing there was a strong smell of sulfur." Sulfur has no odor but combined with oxygen forms sulfur oxide and is hazardous. “When sulfur dust is exposed to oxygen to become sulfur dioxide, it has serious environmental hazards. It affects the living organisms around the area. Sulfur causes vascular damage in veins of the brain, the heart and the kidney.” Any questions? Be sure to hire an experienced inspector to inspect your home carefully.
